Susannah Sanfilippo is a Tenured Yoga Practitioner Specializing in the Nervous System who has practiced yoga for over twenty five years. She is also a Mind-Body Grief Guide and founder of Yoga for your Grieving Heart. Susannah teaches healing-centered classes at the beginner and intermediate levels. Along with her training in classical yoga, she has in-depth studies in: yoga breathing techniques for relaxation, pain reduction and emotional balance; mindfulness meditation; restorative yoga; anatomy of yoga positions; somatic movement that promotes kinesthetic awareness. Susannah is also a singer, performer and has a background in the visual arts.

Her psychologically-informed teaching style enables students of all ages, experience and physical condition to discover the benefits of yoga. Her classes are full of both joy and challenge as she invites students to explore ways to create ease.

Susannah is registered with NACYT (National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers), certified by YogaSpirit and is a Yoga Warriors International Instructor, a Y12SR instructor (Yoga for 12-Step Recovery) and a certified OurMala instructor, Chair Yoga, Laughter Yoga Instructor and she is also a Personal Fitness Trainer.   Susannah has studied with many teachers, most notably, Elaine McGillicuddy, Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D. & PT and Amy Weintraub.  Primarily, Susannah is a student of her own bodymind as well as her student's bodyminds. 

Susannah teaches privately and in group settings and leads workshops for employee trainings.  She is thrilled to be an affiliated instructor with Sea Change Yoga to offer yoga at local transitional housing program for women who are in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency.
